MaxFund Shelter, Denver, CO

A Safer Space for the Dogs Who Need It Most!

MaxFund is more than just a shelter—it’s a sanctuary of last resort. As Denver’s only true no-kill shelter, MaxFund accepts every dog it can, no matter how long the road to adoption may be. That deep commitment means they are often at full capacity, with a small, mostly volunteer team working tirelessly to provide care, comfort, and hope to every animal who walks through their doors.

When we first connected with MaxFund, they were facing the all-too-common challenges that come with running an overburdened shelter: constant cleaning demands, airborne health risks from harsh disinfectants like bleach, and too many hours spent scrubbing instead of healing. That’s where Pawsitive Change stepped in.

We donated a complete biosecurity kit—including our Clean Republic brand disinfectant, electrostatic sprayers, and Merck’s Armatrex surface protectant—to help lighten the load. The results have been extraordinary.

By replacing bleach with our non-toxic, pet-safe disinfectant, MaxFund eliminated harmful fumes that were irritating dogs’ lungs and putting staff at risk. The electrostatic sprayers have made it easier and faster to disinfect kennels and dog runs—dramatically reducing cleaning time. And with Armatrex providing a long-lasting antimicrobial barrier, staff have reported a noticeable drop in common diseases among both animals and caretakers.

But perhaps the most powerful impact has been emotional.

“Your donation helped us breathe easier—literally and figuratively,” said one MaxFund team member. “It’s not just about killing germs. It’s about giving us time back. Time to cuddle, train, and care for the dogs. That’s what matters most.”

At Pawsitive Change, we believe that a cleaner shelter can be the first step toward a forever home. And at MaxFund, we’re honored to play even a small part in their life-saving work.
